E15 stands for consistent, progressive design coupled with high-grade materials and innovative, handcrafted production methods. As a quality modern brand that caters to a global home and contract market, e15 maintains a comprehensive approach to interiors, offering a distinct product that is compatible with diverse environments. In close cooperation with a coterie of designers, architects and artists, e15 develops original products and supports artistic statements, which reflect the brand’s philosophy and its open approach to diverse cultures and disciplines.
Named after the postal code of its first workshop in London, e15 was co-founded in 1995 by architect Philipp Mainzer. A radical, new simplicity marked the debut of the collection and influenced the development of contemporary design. With essential forms, baring all natural markings and characteristics as visible in design classics such as the table TA04 BIGFOOT™ and the stool ST04 BACKENZAHN™, e15 established a leading reputation for the pioneering use of solid wood in its purest form.
Beyond the renowned use of solid wood, the company features an extensive range of refined materials and finishes. For the production of the collection and bespoke items, e15 works with selected workshops in Europe and adheres to environmental acceptability as an integral element of its products. Today, the German furniture brand is represented in over 40 countries. In addition to the furniture collection, e15 works with PHILIPP MAINZER OFFICE FOR ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN to provide architectural and interior design services, realising projects on an international scale.
In April 2012 e15 introduced an exceptional collection of re-editions by renowned modernist architect and designer Ferdinand Kramer. Working closely with Kramer’s family and the archives, e15 debuted twelve iconic designs from various creative periods of the German architect, beginning from 1925 to 1959. With thoughtful regard for Ferdinand Kramer’s work and legacy, e15 has shaped and managed a compelling international campaign to promote him and his furniture.
